Intricate mechanically embroidered badge comprising the caduceus represented by the staff on which Aesculapius, the Roman god of medicine, leaned to move among the sick. A snake is coiled around the staff and is surmounted by a mirror symbolizing the caution that the doctor must have before each medical decision. This caduceus is surrounded by 2 intersecting branches, one of olive and the other of oak.
